Myth Busting

Friday: Jenn and I had the world's largest cheese sticks ever. HUGE. No surprise we were in cheeseland.
Saturday: Went to a few local libertyville establishments. Had some good food at Denny's.
Sunday Funday Bearswinday: Went to Duff's to watch the Bears game. Myth busters was brought up and the whole drinking of a gallon of milk in an hour w/o puking. Duff took the challenge. Greg went to the convenience store and picked up a gallong of 1% milk. He drank the gallon within the hour. And never puked. Next week. 50 hardboiled eggs.

Boo Bash 2005

There were plenty of good costumes there but my favorite individual costume would be Joe as Magnum P.I.....the hat, the real 'stache, the shirt, and the ferrari.

Jenn and I spent Saturday morning and afternoon in the lovely city of Chicago. We made it to the city around 1045 for a reading of HG Wells "War of the Worlds" at the planterium in the star dome room. It was pretty cool. It had been awhile since i've heard/read it. Jenn got all sorts of scared at the guy, sitting behind us, because of his freaky laughing. We then got to the Marriot and dropped off our stuff. Went for some burgers at Blackies and then headed for the longest walk to Millenium Park. We totally walked the wrong way for quite a while. Made it to Millenium Park and hung out on the lawn of the amplitheater, checked out the bean, and hung out by the faces (the fountains were'nt on). Then we napped and got ready for BOO BASH.

Spook Walk 2005

Booo!! My nieces and nephews wanted to create a little spook walk at my parents house. So Jenn and I went to my parents for some dinner and spooky walkiness. The kids hid behind trees and sprayed silly string at the adults as they walked through forested part of my parents place. We then had a little fire in the back yard and told scary stories...actually not too scary stories b/c my Isabella made them all have these pleasant endings. By the end of the evening my nieces and nephews were all sorts of crazy from sugar (ice cream, halloween candy, smores and more).

Mmmm.....More food.

Saturday night we went to The Puerto Rican Restaurant of Filling Your Stomach With Mass Quantaties of Food. Crap it was good. Platanos sandwich, Catfish, Potato Balls, Empanadas, Pork Chops, Rice, Sweet Platanos and i'm sure i'm missing something else too. Highly recommended.

Friday night I went to the bathroom to deposit a Mr. Hankey. When it was flushy flush time my toilet filled up and spilled over. Then i went into my laundry room, after the trying to plunge the toilet for awhile, and i noticed that sewage was backing up in the laundry room out of the little drainage/sewer hole thingy. Ended up having a clog in the sewage pipe and it finally backed up enough to spill out. Fucking nasty. I had to hire a rotorooter guy to come out on monday. Talk about a shitty job.

Making of Chicken to use Bacon in your Taco...Frantonius Special

To start the meal off you have to simmer some black beans (in hindsight it is much much easier just to buy canned black beans thant to simmer your own beans but oh well). The simmering of black beans takes about an hour, wiat until they are very tender. Chop up a clove of garlic, some tomatoes, and some onions.

Now to flavor the beans...Take some onions and chop those fools up. Take about four or five strips of bacon and fry those fools in the same pan. Those two ingredients will soon be used to flavor the beans. The bacon fat and onion juice make for a frantastic flava.

Once the beans have been simmered and have become tender (about one hour) put them in the bacon and onion grease. Mash those suckas up into a paste. Now chop the bacon into quarter to half inch sections. Combine the bacon and bean mixture into the pan. Mother fucking gooooooood tastin' beans.

Now take a big ass pan and fill with some good olive oil. Put in some chicken cut in chunks. Spice according to taste. I used tabasco, cheyenne pepper, and dried pepper seeds. Cook until cooked. Add enchilada sauce simmer to add flavor.

Once again a weekend with Vince and Dave. We are sad and pathetic. At the party last night (Saturday) when one went somewhere the others felt like they had to follow. As the night got rolling we were able to break our cement. It was a fun evening at Eileen's. As I waited outside in front of the apartment complex for vince and Dave to come downstairs, which they never did, I had a couple larger black women rub my chest in an innappropiate manner. They asked me to go home with them. I ended up getting a taxi solo back to vince's and slept in my car until they came home.
Friday night after my game, Dave, Vince and I did nothing but get a sober burrito at El Pacifico around 1230 or so. Some guy was sleeping on a bench, in the restaurant, and was snoring quite loudly. The help couldn't wake them up either. We then went over to Schuba's for a beer. I was very angry and the situation for some reason. I hated everyone in the bar. We had our one PBR and left. Then Vince and I fell asleep while watching Donnie Darko. Oh, and on SaturDAY we went to a homemade art/clothing show in Wicker Park. Dave bought us pins...Hypnochick rocks.

The chicken machine has been mounted. After waiting my 1:30 seconds for the machine to warm the bad boy up, it spits it out in a nice little package. It comes w/ cheese on sourdough bread. I added some ranch dressing, onions and tomato. Its not too bad. I have a cold so i can't taste or smell too well though.

A pretty tame weekend in comparision to last weekend, although both nights I was up until approx. 3 or so. Friday night I went to the batting cages w/ the SCOREpions for some BP before the playoffs. After that I met up with Drew, gary, Vince, Dave and Joe at Curly's. There was some horrendous cover band playing with an autistic man in a Superman's outfit dancing. The Son of Jurel then got on stage and played the flute as the band played a Buffet song. Weird. We couldn't take the noise pollution anymore so we went to another establishment. Then some late night Burritos. They were pretty good. I had al pastor. Got back to drew's house for nap time around 4.
Saturday I had to get up at 730 to play baseball at 9. I was hurting but was alright after coffee and bagel. Unfortunately we sucked. We had the cycle of HRs hit on us during one game: Grand Slam, Three Run Shot, Two Run Shot and a Solo. Brutal. I dropped a pop fly too. That's no good. It was a tough play though that the right fielder should of called me off. After a double header in 93 degree heat, I drove to DaveS and passed out on his couch until 9 or so. We jumped on a bus after waiting about a half hour, then had to switch buses even though we didn't have to switch streets, and then we finally got to The Mutiny to watch Germany (Hennessey's Band) play some alt country. Vince was drizzunk so we dragged him with us back to daves place much to his chagrin. He was all sorts of salty at us for not letting him go back to his place. We waited for ever for the el to come, then vince talked to some 19 year old while I talked to some sexy foriegner who just got back from a bachelorette party. She had an accent, quite possibly German. I was wearing a soccer shirt that had German on it and some kid asked me if I was from Germany. I said no. He said he was about to speak to me in German. We made it back to DaveS and got burritos of various meat fillings. We don't know who's meat was where b/c they wrote incoherent messages on the aluminum foil. Went to bed.
Sunday woke up. Drove like a maniac to get to Dan Kim's before the kick off. I jump out of my after flying over his curb going about 30 miles per hour b/c the radio announcers were describing the bears kick returner. I jump out of my car after crookedly parking. Dang, Dan's door is locked. I'm gonna miss kick off. He answers the door, I run to the TV. I see a paused commercial. He was putting the game on tape delay. So i blew out my shocks all for nought. Watched the Bears inability to score 10 points. Then went to see 40 year old virgin. It was pretty dang funny.

Well the first day of the observation is over. I got home at 11:30 after having a few after my softball games. Which we won both (Which if you all don't mind me bragging: I played a stellar shortstop last night with a few diving stops and then throwing them out, unassisted double plays...I love sports) games. I still had no idea what I was going to do in my US History class. So I whipped up a plan even though I knew I was being observed. The key to the lesson was the sermon by Jonathon Edwards: Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. That sermon always rocks the crowd. I get to yell at students, inform them that they are going to hell and that the only thing that is holding their pathetic lives from diving into an eternal fire is the hand of a God who hates you. It's fun. I like yelling.

I have a crapload placed before me. I am being observed tomorrow and I have no idea what I am going to do. Probably something w/ Roots but I need to find apt clips and then create something to do and a create discussion around those clips from the movie. I have to get to Wheaton today after school for baseball practice, I then have to get up north for my softball game, i then have to have a drink after the game, i then have to sleep. Don't know when I'll get to the school stuff though. Maybe I'll just quit. I really wish I would of won the lottery.

What a crazy weekend. Full of blogging moments that I no longer can recall so I'm gonna throw down some highlights.
Friday nizzight: Hacked in Swansonians apartment, went out to dinner in lesbiantown, commented on Josh Hartnett's hair, chugged some beer, Vince and I raced around a middle school's track (speaking of getting schooled so did vince), had the cops roll up on us for a mock fight, went to my favorite bar of all time (Carol's [i think that's its name]), watch swanson throw some game down on a girl from somewhere or another, fuck teke, dance party USA'd it until 630 in the AM at DaveS. Went to bed.
Saturday: Woke up at 930 on 3 hours of sleep feeling the same way as I did when I went to bed, coffee I.V. was needed, moved suburban shelley to her resting place, napped while people arranged pieces of furniture around me, moved and removed various couches, napped, cooked some meats on propaned cooking device, napped, got some more coffee, finally made it out to the scene around midnite, rolling stones cover band, listened to Gabe and Dave talk the politics, went to a place full of Shananigan's, then went on a walk of a lifetime where we discovered that Allende's does actually close, listened to dave and vince argue over who should drive, dave should of won the argument b/c Vince doesn't remember dropping off Gabe at 6 in the AM (which was right about the time he was supposed to be getting up to go to BodyWorks....I hope everything worked out for you Gabe), Vince and a Cab Driver became the same person to me, and then went to bed around 630.
Sunday: A & T breakfast w/ a nice but goofy as hell waitress who hated the fact she could only offer Dave, Sara and I one type of soup (that's all they make on Sundays), Sara drove me home, I napped, and then napped. Went up to the Potter's for dinner.
Monday: Finally put Dirty Little Hippie and Suburban Shelley down on wax, bought some meats and grilled those motherfuckers. Thanks to the Kims for coming over and partaking in the American Tradition. Potato Salad: Now that's patriotism! I love the U.S. of A. Shit........work tomorrow. I need a day off.

Moved North Since Charleston...

I went to my first Grad class tonight at Northeastern Illinois University. Pretty soon it will be Master of History Frantonius. You can just call me Master though. The class is called Readings in Early American History. We're focusing on the Constitutional Convention. The bare minimum I could do: Read Two Books, Write Two Book Reviews, 20 minute presentation on one of the delegates, 10-15 page paper on the same delegate. I'll end up reading a shit load more than two books though but that is all that is technically required though. I have to decide by next class on what delegate I want to research. I can't do G. Washington, A. Hamilton, J. Madison, B. Franklin, or John Dickenson though. I'll have to do some research and see which one's interest me. Maybe I'll find the one that drank the most and I'll be like an actor "practice" for the roll. Back to School.

Cubs Tickets.....booo

So i went to the chubs game yesterday even though they are a shell of a team. if they don't do some major reconstructive work over the winter, I'm gonna be all sorts of pissed. I got the tix from someone at work who put them up for sale during 7th period. My friend had pretty depressing day the day before and i figured she could use a cheering up. Plus she had never been to a cubs game before so i took the tix. I parked my car at about 615 in spot that was regulated up until 7. So i took the chance that cop wouldn't come in 45 min. We took the red line from loyola and headed into the mecca of baseball. Sat down, took for ever for a old style guy to come over (plenty of bud/bud light though), got a beer, hot dog, talked about the intricacy of wrigley (AC #s, division flags, new sandburg flag, W flag, etc), and saw the cubs win. Wanted to avoid the el ride traffic so headed to the Underground Lounge where a not funny improv group was attempting to improv. Headed back to my car and found out that, what was my 30 dollar cub ticket, had now become an 80 dollar ticket. Rejoice our system works.

Now that the cubs season is over and the bears will suck once again....

I just ate some left overs from last night. Holy crap it was gooder. Fresh chopped garlic, red peppers, asparagus, and olive oil. Pan cooked chicken, olive oil, italian seasonings, pasta sauce, w/ melted cheese on top. I wish i had my digicamera so i could take a picture of it. I'll have a pick a new one up soon.

On another note of food, the chicken vending machine is actually sold out. Too much demand.

Back to the grindstone of work. Had a nice long weekend of debauchery. Unfortunately no late night eats. I reallly wanted a burrito saturday night/sunday morning. Sat. Night: Watched Swanson rock the hizzouse w/ a stirring rendition of "Waiting Room" by Fugazi. I unfortunately had to following his act w/ my drunken version of "You May Be Right" by the B. Joel. I found out that Vince has been working on his arms, he looked pretty sharp in his dego t. Sun. Morn.: Had some breakfast sunday at the A&T Grill, took a nap, went to the beach, toured the old neighborhood by the Hold Up (ate at Tapatio and Scooters), watched some TV w/ B.A. and then went nighty night. Good Times. Thanks to all who participated: Vince, Dave, Kolasa, Papak (he called me and let me know that he got engaged and asked me to stand in his wedding), Cahill, Shelley, Gary, Julie, Jennie, Mel K, W, and any of the waiters/waitress that helped me get food this weekend.
